Key Points
Troop 12 Patrol (or Troop) Boxes include kitchen supplies for front country overnight field events. Proper care to maintain hygiene, safety, and inventory is the responsibility of our Scouts.
Our Scouts deserve clean and properly stocked kitchen supplies for field events.
At the end of each field event a Scout will be assigned to take a Patrol box home, maintain it, and return it to the Troop Quartermaster in a condition ready for next use.
Maintenance Steps
Upon return from a trip remove the Patrol box from the carrier pack and remove all items from the patrol box.
Remove the inventory list from the carrier pack storage sleeve
Remove all utensils from the cloth utensil holder.
Dish wash all bowls, pots, pans, cutting mats, griddles, grates, measuring cups, and utensils
Launder and dry the cloth utensil holder and cloth oven mitts
Wipe down stove
Clean any loose debris out of the patrol box
Inspect box for damage, such as cracks or malfunctioning hinges
Clean the inside and outside of the patrol box with kitchen cleaner
Wipe clean any dirt on the carrier pack
When all elements are clean and dry, replace into the Patrol Box using the inventory list as
reference
Make note of any items missing, damaged, and any extra items
Keep extra items separate
Replace all items into the Patrol Box so that the lids close without bulging
Slip Patrol box into carrier and secure carrier closure buckles.
Replace inventory sheet into storage sleeve
Return to Quartermaster at a Troop meeting
Return extra items separately
Provide a list of missing or damaged items
